20 Ways to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle
Below is the list of 20 healthy lifestyle tips for your life:
1. Drink plenty of water
You must have heard many times that water is good for your health.
Try and take at least 3 liters of water daily.
It is a common healthy tip as you will find it on many other health websites.
That’s why it’s number 1 of all the healthy lifestyle tips here.
I have a friend whose mother is a doctor, every day she fills a container that is at least 5 liters with water and makes sure they finished that liter every day.
Do the same exercise for yourself; drink at least 2 liters of water every day so you stay hydrated all the time.
2. Eat more vegetables
You don’t have to be a vegetarian to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle and also, be healthy, but you do need to have vegetables in your meals every day.
Eating vegetables can reduce the risk of getting a stroke, cancer, type-2 diabetes, and heart disease.
3. Snacks and junk food should only be taken in moderation
Only take snacks and other junk foods when you are rewarding yourself for doing something well. Like jogging every day for the whole week or for completing some assignments.
You could even eat junk as a reward for not eating junk food for some time.
But don’t make eating junk food your everyday routine.
It should be taken in moderation.
4. Avoid sodas and sugary drinks
Just like you should take junk food in moderation; it is highly advisable that you avoid taking anything that has sugar in it.
Before you take any drink try and look at the ingredients.
Some drinks will try to trick you by putting all forms of chemical names on the label.
Don’t be fooled.
The more chemical names you see on the label, the more likely some of them are sugar.
5. Avoid large meals before bed
Taking large meals before bed makes you groggy when you wake up; and it also clouds your mind.
Try taking a light meal before bed or better still, eliminate dinners altogether. (This is recommended by James Allen – he is not a medical specialist so take this advice with a grain of salt – but I see his point).
Plus, eliminating or taking a light meal hours before bed makes you lose weight fast – I’m talking in a matter of days.
6. Try and exercise at least 3 times in a week
Exercising is a great healthy lifestyle tip because it does so many things for you; including helping with your cardio (heart function).
I hear it increases your threshold for pain and it actually makes you more confident (true life story from my experience).
When you sweat from exercising, it helps with your sweat pores; removing any dirt you have under your skin.
You can check out my own exercise routine here.
Use it as a guide to starting your own exercise routine.
7. Do some yoga once a week for flexibility
Yoga helps with your flexibility, aids blood flow across your body, and also helps you to relax.
Here are some benefits of doing yoga:
- Yoga will help you;
- Increase your muscle strength

8. Get a massage regularly
I once read a book about living a long life and the author said he interviewed many centenarians and asked them what the secret to their long life was.
He said they all had different answers from each other.
But they all had one answer in common.
They got frequent massages.
Maybe every day or once a week, but they had it consistently.
So maybe it’s something you should think about.
Check out the other many health benefits of getting a regular massage.
9. Drink a lot less alcohol
Or better still, stop drinking alcohol as it damages your liver and turns a well-packaged person into a blabbering, clueless idiot.
Alcohol has ruined a lot of lives and I wish you never indulge in abusing it.
Don’t be involved in heavy drinking as you can have a greater risk of heart and liver disease, stroke, depression, sleep disorders, and many other dangerous health conditions
Check out the effects of alcohol on the body here.

A glass a day is good for your health.

The WHO (World Health Organisation) calls tobacco “the single most preventable cause of death in the world”.
Smoking causes cancer, heart disease, stroke, lung disease, diabetes, and many other unwanted health effects and it should be avoided.
13. Don’t do drugs
Doing drugs – and by drugs, I mean the hard kind like cocaine, crystal meth, and other forms of hard drugs – can weaken your immune system, cause cardiovascular conditions and causes your liver to have to work harder; which causes liver failure in the future.
Plus the negative side effects drugs have on the transformation of your face. (Warning: NEVER google These images, they are very disturbing)
If you are contemplating doing drugs, go on YouTube and type in “effects of drugs on the face” and maybe you’ll rethink your decision.
Meditation helps you to relax your mind, body, and spirit.
It also helps improve some psychological areas like;

Fiber has a number of health benefits but like every other thing, too much of it has its own negative side effects.
Too much fiber in your diet can cause constipation, bloating, loose stools, flatulence, temporary weight gain, and other negative side effects.

I know this sounds like something for the monks in the mountains.
But there are many health benefits of breathing properly.
I’m sure this may come as a surprise to you especially if you think breathing is an involuntary action of the body.

19. Reduce consumption of deep-fried foods
Deep-fried food is delicious as I am a witness.
But too much of it is not good for your health.
Eating deep-fried foods regularly can put you at a higher risk of getting diseases like obesity, heart disease, and other negative health effects of eating fried foods.
20. Take good supplements
Dietary supplements in your food can help with your health.
Take supplements carefully as they are most likely to cause side effects or harm you when you take them nilly-willy instead of the prescribed medicines.
Fish oil for instance is a great supplement as it helps promote heart health.
There are many other supplements that are good for you but you should consult with your doctor before taking any supplement.
You can even get a hair loss thinning supplement.
